Enchanting Art

Enchanting is one of the words that comes to mind when admiring the glass objets d’art of Cypriot-born Yorgos Papadopoulos.

A quaint hideaway at the remote village of Kedares, with barely any inhabitants, provides endless inspiration. The abundance of light and ever-changing shades during different times of day or night are reflected in his art, transforming glass into a treasured icon or a fairylike garden installation with a burst of colours.  Hard to believe that it all started, while studying ceramics at the London’s Royal College of Art and accidentally breaking a laminated glass.  Escaping from a rather hectic London pace, Yorgos found peace and serenity back to Cyprus, his beloved homeland. He proudly leads the way for a walk through his vineyards and a stop at his beloved orchard, belonging to his family for generations now, with a taste of the juiciest grapes and sweetest summer figs imaginable as found on the island. A life with many blessings, an unstoppable talent and endless passion all make Yorgo’s art pieces such valued keepsakes.
