Its Athens and to truly get to know this buzzing metropolis OM suggests a list of must do events.

Let’s start by throwing in a bit of culture and heading towards Plaka, the most visited downtown spot, not missing out on a stroll around the Acropolis museum, concluding with a bit of evening gourmet dining with a Hellenic twist. Heritage and local attractions immerse you into the country’s story through its people, traditions, customs, and characteristics.  So, it’s fun to roam around the main shopping streets with stops for a pair of authentic made to measure Greek sandals by proud local craftsmen, then head towards the colourful Varvakio market for anything edible that your heart desires feeling overwhelmed by the piles of spices, herbs, dry fruit & nuts, with special mention to the fresh produce from all corners of Greece.  Supporting local farmers and small businesses is always high on our agenda and part of our CSR.  However, the highlight of the trip is a day of leisurely sailing on the Aegean to nearby stunning islands, like Aegina or further along to iconic Spetses and artistic Hydra.  As the famous Greek poet Kavafis eloquently wrote in his poem Ithaca, ‘it’s not the destination that matters but the journey’, such is the motto for OM as designers of select experiences.
