June 18, 2021Corfu Easter
Corfu surely knows how to celebrate the Greek Orthodox Easter with a bang! A much-awaited event, for both locals and visitors, is the throwing of ‘botides’ – red clay pots filled with water- from red coloured decorated balconies. This symbolic noisy custom, during Holy Saturday, demonstrates the ‘earthquake like’ occurrence during the resurrection of Jesus Christ from his tomb. We share with you last year’s video, with fewer crowds due to the pandemic, but with the same effect and enthusiasm by the Corfiots.
Kali Anastasi and hope you experience Easter in Corfu once in your lifetime, because it will be worth it!
