Rhodes

In the southeast Aegean, ten miles from the Asian Minor coast lies Rhodes, the largest island of the Dodecanese. With a very mild climate and the longest duration of sunlight in the whole of Greece, Rhodes is named the island of the sun.
It is an island with a long & rich history, inhabited since the Neolithic era. It's culture and strategic location, as the crossroad of three continents, has endowed it with the traditions and heritage of many diverse civilizations, although without changing the genuine Greek identity of Rhodes.

Through its history, the island was concurred by the Phoenicians, the Minoan Cretans, the Dorians, the Romans and the Ottomans. It became the capital of the Byzantine Island territories and the settling point of the Order of the Knights of St. John after they were expelled from the Holly Land. In the center of the Rhodes town there is an intact medieval town, within imposing Venetian walls with a fence ditch with bridges and towers.
In antiquity, Rhodes was the host for one of the seven miracles of the world: the giant statue of the "Kolossos" of Rodos.

The city of Rhodes has one of the most intense nightlife in the Mediterranean. It offers great shopping and it is considered ideal for buying jewellery, clothes and leatherwear.Rhodes is simply one the best choices for business or pleasure in the Mediterranean. The people's genuine hospitality, the mild climate, natural beauties, historic monuments, the Rhodian traditions but also the cosmopolitan character of the island and up-scale services and hotel accommodation offered, make it the perfect destination. It is also a great place for conferences & incentives and has hosted many International events including 2 European Union Ministerial summits.
