Greek Islands

The postcard perfect Greek islands have always attracted visitors from all walks of life and remain among the most popular destinations worldwide.  As an integral part of the country’s culture and tradition, Greece boasts 6,000 islands and islets populate the Aegean and Ionian Seas, of which only 227 are inhabited.   Its noteworthy to mention that some of the oldest European civilizations, like the Cycladic and Minoan, developed on the Greek islands with a distinctive architectural heritage, fascinating traditions and unique local flavors handed down from generation to generation.

Most are found in the Aegean Sea and are divided, from north to south:

The Northeastern Aegean Islands, The Sporades, Evia, Argosaronic Islands, The Cyclades, The Dodecanese, Crete and the Ioanian Islands.
