Iconic Athens Venue

Athens is surely at the forefront when in search of a notable European venue for a truly stunning happening.

As an event designer, constantly in search of something exceptional and astonishing I am fascinated by the Stavros Niarchos Cultural Centre, located at the district of Kallithea and in close proximity to the Athenian seafront and most luxury hotels. Inspired and designed by the world-famous architect Renzo Piano, the creator of the hip Whitney Museum in New York’s meatpacking district and the The Shard in London among other superb projects, this self-sustainable cultural centre lends itself for a once in a lifetime event.  Nestled beneath a 170,000 sq. m sloping park, planted with indigenous Greek plants with the magic touch of Deborah Nevins, a famous New York landscape designer, it forms the roof of the opera house and library. The top of the artificial hill, which rises to 32 metres, provides a panoramic view of Athens and the Aegean Sea. Besides housing the National Library of Greece and the Greek National Opera an amazing park offers the opportunity for a strolling experience or for a sporting teambuilding activity at the 400-metre-long canal, running tracks or by a playground.  The highest point called Lighthouse leaves you breathless as it’s like being suspended on top of the majestic city of Athens with uninterrupted views. If you are searching for an impressive gala venue with a twist and glorious views, then the Stavros Niarchos Cultural Centre is certainly the place.
